There are many fears and misunderstandings about the use of hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
Hypnosis means 'trance and is a perfectly natural state. How often have you been driving
and realise you can't remember anything of the journey? This is a trance state.
Hypnotherapy
It is completely safe.
You have to want to be hypnotised.
It is a natural state of heightened awareness.
You do not become unconscious or go to sleep.
If you don't want to tell the therapist something whilst under hypnosis, you won't.
You can come out of a trance at anytime, nobody can make you stay 'under'.
If you were left in a trance state you would either fall into a natural sleep or wake-up.
To be hypnotised you don't have to have a weak will.
Everyone is susceptable to hypnosis.
The participation of a subject has to be by their consent.
You cannot be made to tell the truth under hypnosis.
Under hypnosis you cannot be 'made' to do anything you don't want to do, or that
goes against your moral judgement, or something that you object to.
